Last week end we went to St. George to volunteer for the inaugural Ironman. We drove down on Friday afternoon so we could check in at the Dixie event center; however, when we showed up they were packing up. The next morning we showed up at our assigned station along the highway in front of the Ledges Golf Course and got to work. We were assigned to Balloon duty. Dave blew them up while others tied strings on them. We then took those balloons and tied them to old firetrucks. Here is Dave carrying a chair of balloons. Look at the big red balloon.
Here is a picture of our volunteer group
And last of all, a picture at the leader at mile 60. The memory card than was full so I dont have any other pictures. Sorry.
After we were done at the aid station we went to the finish line to watch the finishers around 4:00 pm. It was cool to watch all these people come in and just look exhausted. We left around 7:00 pm because we were just exhausted. Around 10:00 pm to watch the "average" people finish. We were only planning on staying 20 minutes or so but ended up staying till midnight. It was an absolute party! People were passing out SWAG and the music was pumping.
We had a great trip and wish you were all there with us.
PS This is Dave's first post in about 2 years. What do you think???

Awesome Post! I am just a little confused...when did you go to St. George?! I must be out of the loop!
GREAT post, Dave. Good job. And it looks like it was tons of fun! I'd love to do it with you guys if you do it again!
Definately thought it sounded different. Sounds like a fun, inspiring time!
Way to step it up and write a post Dave! Except I thought for a minute you would be actually doing the ironman- ha ha. You couldn't pay me to do one!!
