I'm totally late on Brady's 18-month post, but since I don't do any journal writing, I still want to remember what Brady is up to right now.
Just for the record--at his appointment his stats were:
Weight: 24 lbs, 8 oz.--30th percentile
Height: 32 1/2 inches--60th percentile
Brady is such a sweet little boy. I'm so happy that he is in our family. We've really been blessed to be parents of such a happy, healthy, adorable, curly haired boy.
-His hair gets comments everywhere we go. It's so dang cute with all the curls.
-He does pretty well in nursery, although he cried most the time his
first 2 weeks. The comments we have gotten about him are that he likes
to climb on tables and he likes to eat crayons. Sounds about right.
-Brady loves being outside . He is always picking up sticks, rocks, and pine cones. He is constantly pointing to things and asking "Wass that?"
-He is obsessed with flags and can spot them anywhere.
-He likes to pretend to do things like talk on the phone, put shoes on, comb his hair, and he loves to buckle things.
-He still isn't talking a ton, but enough. His favorite words are cracker and sssseess (cheese).
-He loves pointing to people he recognizes in pictures. If we ask him where Heidi is, he will point to a picture of her. I love it.
-He's figuring out how to play with other kids more and loves being around them.
-Brady loves water when it is in something small like a puddle or bath, but is kinda freaked out by swimming pools and the splash pad. His favorite place to play in the water is the Liberty Park streams.
-When he is eating, he wants his own fork or spoon to play with. He hides it on the ledge on the back of his highchair and puts his hands up and asks "Whereis it?" He thinks it's so funny when he shows you where he was hiding it. This picture shows what he does with his hands whenever he asks a question.
-He likes to cuddle with any soft stuffed animal. He still likes his blankie, but isn't as attached to it as he used to be. He is able to nap with no binkie, but still wants it at night.
-He thinks he is so funny when you are trying to get him and he runs away. He is faster than you think!
-Brady is really good at playing by himself. If you give him toys in his crib, he will sit and play for up to an hour sometimes. This is nice when I want to sleep a little bit more in the mornings! His favorite toy right now is the roller coaster with the wires and beads.
-He loves circles and stars and is really good at pointing them out.
-He likes to put stickers on a piece of paper. We have Sesame Street stickers right now that he loves!
-He loves drinking out of a cup or water bottle.
-He is more of a picky eater than he used to be. He loves grapes,
blackberries, blueberries, goldfish, and cheese. We had to move the rug
under our kitchen table to be just under Brady's chair because he
throws lots of food and is getting a really good arm!
-Speaking of having a good arm, he often chucks his toys into the front seat while we are driving. It could get a little dangerous so we try not to laugh, but it's hard!
-He throws little tantrums when you take away something he wants. We just let him lay on the floor and throw his little fit. He gets over them pretty quickly and is easy to distract.
-He is a great sleeper and he takes about 3 hour naps. He goes down about 7:30 at night and usually wakes up between 7:00 and 7:30.
We love you Brady!
