The night before the race they had a pasta dinner. Brady spilled almost an entire bottle of water on him, hence the no shirt. He loved walking around and picking up sticks and throwing rocks into the water.
We had a pack and play that we put in the tent for Brady to sleep in. We didn't put him down until about 9:00, since it was so light outside. He went right down, but bright and early at 4:15, he was wide awake with no hope of going back to sleep! We'll just say it wasn't a great night with Brady waking up so early and another little boy in the campground next to us crying for over an hour starting at about midnight.
The race started at 6:30 with a half mile swim. Dave got a good luck high-five from Brady, which helped him to do MUCH better at the swim than his last race. I always breathe a sigh of relief when I see him come out of the water!
Here is Dave in Transition area 1 drying off and getting his bike clothes on.
And here is him coming in from the bike (15 miles) and starting his 5K run (while showing a little chest hair).
He had a good time racing and is already talking about doing it next year. If you think Dave is awesome like me and Brady, leave him a comment! :)
We went back to our campsite and made bacon, eggs, and pancakes. Brady was so tired from his late night and early morning. We put him down for a nap in the tent at about 9:00 am, and this is how he looked just seconds from being put in his bed! He took about a 2 hour nap, which was better than we hoped for.
While we were unloading our stuff, Brady was playing in the car. We could hear him saying "MMmmmm, mmmmmm." When we checked what he was doing, he had Dave's Sprite from lunch, just slurping it down and loving it! Silly boy!

Dave you are awesome! Your chest hair picture grosses me out though. That's funny that Brady found your Sprite. Way to go!
I DO think Dave is pretty awesome. Sounds like a fun weekend. Hopefully one day Jeremy can start doing them as well!
