Aloha!

Dave and I just got back from our trip to Maui. We had so much fun! Since we have a lot of pictures, I'm going to do my post JeriAnne style and put just do one post a day for the next couple of days.
We got to Hawaii on Wednesday night, at like 9:00 (which is 1:00am Utah time!) after our plane was delayed in Salt Lake 4 hours! It was awful, but we finally made it. We picked up our convertible that Dave was so excited for, went to dinner then went straight to bed! Our bodies were not used to Hawaii time, so we woke up at 4:30 the next morning! We went on a little drive, then waded in the water at the beach that was across the street to our hotel. While we were wading, we saw a stingray right at our feet! It was cool!
Later that day, (by later, I mean 8:00 am when everything finally opened) we rented snorkel equipment and drove to Napili Bay. They had some really great snorkeling there, and it was a pretty beach. I absolutely love snorkeling and could do it for hours at a time, but it freaked Dave out a little bit to be that close to the corral and things, so he didn't make it that long! We went over past some rocks to another little bay, because my sister Carrie said that they had seen sea turtles there. As soon as we got there, we saw their heads poking out. We jumped off the rocks into the water and saw tons of turtles. Some of them were big! It was really cool to swim with them and see them! We hung out at the beach for a few more hours, stopped in Lahaina on the way back, ate dinner, and did a little shopping.
That night, we were sitting on the beach watching the sunset and we saw a helicopter that was in the distance. We just thought it was a sunset tour or something, but all of a sudden, we saw it get close to the water and saw someone jump out of it. Then they sent down a rope and picked the person up on it, and were carrying them dangling by the rope. We had no idea what they were doing, then the helicopter ended up landing like 20 yards from where we were sitting! It was the weirdest thing! We decided that they must have been practicing a water rescue or something!

I love all your pictures! I can't believe how close you were to all those turtles.

I can just imagine you going to the beach at 5 in the morning because you can't sleep. Nice underwater camera action. What kind of a camera do you have? I love that you got a convertible, too :).
